The following notes are designed to guide you through the preparation that you will need to do before you arrange a consultation with one of our Associates. Preparation is very important if you are to gain maximum value from this support service. Your 12 month registration fee entitles you to SIX 30 minute advice sessions, so please make the most of the allocated time!


CUSTOMER SPECIFICATION

Send us a ONE PAGE summary (or ‘specification’) of the items you would like to discuss. Our Associate will then do some preparation in advance of your call. 30 minutes will pass very quickly, so it is essential that your consultation session has a good focus. Do not try to pack in too many subjects, and remember that you can either use each of your SIX sessions either to compile knowledge about a single subject, or to obtain guidance on six separate international trade issues.


ARRANGING YOUR CONSULTATION

Your consultation will not take place until at least ONE WEEK after you send us your specification. This is to make sure that our Associate has sufficient time within their busy schedule to complete their call preparation. When we have received your specification, we will designate an Associate to work with you and we will offer a selection of three times and dates which will be convenient for your call. We will confirm your allocated call time by email.


SELECTING YOUR METHOD OF COMMUNICATION

If you have a Broadband Internet service, you will be able to select from a number of VOIP (Voice Over Internet Protocol) service providers so that your call can either be free of charge, or at minimal cost to you. Our preferred VOIP provider is Skype, and you can download this free technology at www.skype.com . Remember that we do not pay for your call, so it is important that you select the most cost-effective option.


MAKING YOUR CALL

It is best to keep introductions short. Your designated Associate will already have studied the subject for discussion, so you can start questioning straight away. Each 30 minute time slot is strictly enforced. If you are more than five minutes late making the call, then your session will be reduced by the proportionate amount of time, and there will be no reimbursement of fees.
