The role of any consultant is to accelerate a process or project by providing direct experience or additional resource that a client may not have. 96% of UK companies employ less than ten people, therefore a consultant’s input can be invaluable. It can be short, medium, or long term. Typically Exportaid contracts last about three years because if we do our job well, companies are generally left strong enough to manage their own international business after that period of time. There have been exceptions where we continue to offer services to companies, with the longest being ten years, but that is entirely driven what our clients want.
Having an experienced head in your exporting team can help to deal with the challenges efficiently and to pursue opportunities professionally and turn them into long term business. In addition to our own resource we have built a network of trusted associates and other support services, so we can generally put clients in touch with experienced international trade practitioners who have the most relevant experience and training.
Mentoring by Example
It’s Your Show. A consultant will work to your specification or may work with you to create the right specification for any given project. We are happy to get involved on a practical level, working with our clients on specific issues until they achieve self-sufficiency.
No Two Jobs are the Same
Exportaid’s first job was to help a client with an export license for high tech marine equipment destined for the Middle East. Our second was to renegotiate a horribly one-sided letter of credit for the supply machinery into a very challenging market. Things became much easier after that!
We have helped companies across industry sectors, and while we would never claim to know everything about everything everywhere, we generally know someone who can point you in the right direction. If you would like to know more, please email or pick up the phone.
